for creatives, by creativesHey #DreamMates!I am so glad to have you join the #DreamingWithMika community. I have spent my life pioneering the literary space and building my empire from the ground up. I know firsthand the power a dream - and a lot of hard work - can do. Are you ready to #DreamWithMika? A Word from TamikaGive yourself a round of applause. We are officially 25 years into a brand-new century. Twenty-five years. Can you believe that? We’re closer to 2050 than we are to the year 2000, and that alone will make you pause if you let it. But the beauty of aging—of living—is that with time comes freedom. Time to explore. Time to do what you enjoy. Time to love deeply, spend moments with family, fall in love (again and again), and see the world. That’s what makes life worth living. Not the to-do lists. Living happens when you find gratitude in today. Because the truth is, we can’t change yesterday and we can’t control tomorrow. All we really have is right now—and how we choose to show up in it. For me, 2025 was monumental. I stayed present. I focused on each day. I accomplished things I set out to do—and some things I didn’t even see coming. I traveled, explored new places, and met people I never would’ve crossed paths with if I hadn’t said yes to getting on a plane and stepping outside my comfort zone. And I’m grateful for every single experience. As I step into 2026, I’m focused on what’s next—new creative projects, and expanding Black Writers Weekend into other cities. Smaller pop-up experiences, but still rooted in community, storytelling, and connection. It feels like the natural next step as I continue to grow this vision year by year and listen to where it wants to go. And now, I want you to think about what’s next for you. It has truly been a beautiful year. Happy New Year, and cheers to you all. 🥂 introducingTraces of You CurriculumDon’t miss out! When you stay present, you give yourself permission to breathe, to grow, and to appreciate life as it’s unfolding — not as you wish it was or fear it might be. Until Next TimeToday is enough. Do one thing that brings you peace, one thing that moves you forward, and then let the rest wait. Tomorrow will come — but right now, be here. |
